Dare to be different in 2010

My bet is... 2010 would be a different one for the fashion world.
Think: ALIEN. no screw that. that`s scary. Think: Xena, The Warrior Princess.
You may recall some fashion staples during the previous year, but dear, this year, it`s even better..
Here are some key inspirations, styles and cuts. (and some tips on how to wear `em)

First, say "oh-hello-we-meet-again" to the Boyfriend Blazer. It`s still a continuing type of clothing that we will see in most fasyon girls this Spring/Summer of 2010. How do you define relaxed cool? It`s easy as 1-2-3. Imagine wearing beige trousers, plain tee, and a slightly oversized blazer (with it`s sleeves rolled up) that`s it!

Next, welcome the Tribal Princess. Sounds adventurous. Allow your mind to imagine Michael Jackson meets Xena, now isn`t that something? But do you think you have the confidence to pull-off wearing leather tunics, metal shoes, clothing with metal and exaggerated bead work? Sure the military look has been re-introduced to us in 2009, but this year, it`s gonna be better. A little wilder, a little more fierce as they say. The fashion lords (Rodart, Balmain, Balenciaga...) have thought of introducing metal plating, chain-mail inspired details, and tribal motifs to fashion goddesses.

Then we also embrace the one-piece items, Jumpsuits, Rompers and Playsuits. We know that Madonna in the 80`s (up until now) wore leotards and bodysuits, whiche were fashion staples. And in 2009, the ever so famous adventurous fashion icon, Lady Gaga, have revived this clothing to us.

Dare to be bare? Everything sheer is IN this year. Due to our rising problem in global warming, our fashion gods have heard our plea by giving us clothing that keeps us cool yet sexy. Those neo-grunge-inspired see-through dresses and tops (don`t forget the ripped tights!!) definitely screams "I`M FROM THE 90`S!"

Shorter than short boy shorts and hot pants. Don`t be shy to flaunt that sexy legs of yours, be proud of it! Go ahaead and hit the beach or the gym clad in shorts that reaches the negative length without looking "slutty". How? Balance the look by wearing over-the knee socks (which is also a hit trend this 2010) Be creative in wearing high socks; wear it over tights or wear a sporty socks or an embellished one. Try on the mid-cut high pants, or the high-waisted high pants pair it with thigh high booties. so fasyon!

For sporty gals out there, I have some tips on how to strut that athletic body. (or fine, even the not-so-athletic ones can wear these) Meet the tomboy, the sporty flapper, the urban dancer, and the sexy diver. The tomboy gal wears a cropped shirt, football-inspired shoulders (think: Puck of Glee in his football uniform), leather tie-up shorts, and knee socks. The sporty gal on the other hand, with drop-waist pleated skirts and dons stripes in classic colours. Whereas the urban dancer reveals both her feminine side and her toughness-slash-i-dont-care side, all clad in stonewashed bodysuit with the hint of modern; soft ballet pinks and creams transferred into skinny pants and flowing sheer hoodies. So girls, lets get physicaaaal!
