My luck all started late last year, when I got in as an Intern for Cosmo.ph. I wasn`t really expecting I`d get in the job, I just tried my luck. Well it turned out well; I was able to cover for fashion shows, events, I got freebies along with my Press Kit, I got my hair colored, eyebrows dyed and threaded (all for free!!), and I got to write loads of articles for the site -which really helped me be open to other things, not just styling and all that fasyon thing. But one thing that I am most proud of what I am now, is the experience. Yes I get to do all sorts of fun stuff, and also, I get to meet people in the industry, whom I know I`ll be meeting again in the near future. I`m so happy I`ve built friendship among the people whom I have worked with, they come and go but I sure did learn a lot from them.
Okay, so really the real deal is this..
Just recently i found out from my cousin that her friend, who previously works for Cosmo.ph and is now the Fashion Editor for Cosmopolitan Magazine, wants to hire me for their magazine! I was really flattered that she really likes me. But unfortunately, I`m still a Sophomore and I won`t be graduating until 2012.
Then, just now I received an email from the managing editor. She was asking me till when I`ll be interning for Cosmo.ph, and I said till summer. Well, good news for me is, she wants to get me as a Contributor ("with pay and all"-NICE!). So I said hell yes!! haha so there I just want the others to also learn from this experience. Being an Intern may be "all that glam" but it really pays a lot if you enjoy, learn from what you are doing, and do best in whatever you are doing.
As what I`ve said in Twitter, "i think 2010 will be my year, really great opportunities coming my way!! :)"
Here's a message from my lovely KB, Sab: lets have a toast on monday... 1. For the impressive stuff you've done for cosmo 2. success of decades manila 3. for the awesome year (and years to come!) ahead for us :)
